The International League of Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS) and the People’s Resource for International Solidarity and Mass Mobilization (PRISM) are renewing their call for papers in commemoration of the centennial of the Great October Socialist Revolution.
This study guide on the Russian February (March 1917) Revolution, prepared on the occasion of the October Revolution Centennial Celebration, is offered as a continuing study material for activists who see a use for simplified historical accounts in popular education. In his book What Is to Be Done?, Lenin discussed the role of a nationwide newspaper not only as a collective propagandist but also a collective organizer, especially in the Russia of 1902 when there was no real and consolidated party as yet, and no solid links with the masses and sustained leadership of a broad mass movement. This article seeks to share an overview of Pravda (Truth) as a Bolshevik mass newspaper that eventually played that role and contributed to the victory of the 1917 October Socialist Revolution.
PRISM and ILPS are co-organizing a yearlong commemoration of the centennial of the Great October Socialist Revolution, and seek cooperation and coordination in this effort with various Marxist-Leninist, socialist and anti-imperialist organizations.

On May 16, 1966, the Chinese Communist Party under the leadership of Chairman Mao Zedong launched the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution. We are gathering here today to celebrate this historical event. Why are we celebrating the launching of the Cultural Revolution half a century later? The reason is, of course, the Cultural Revolution is as relevant today as it was in 1966. Read more

It is important to celebrate and review the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution (GPCR) on its 50th anniversary. The GPCR gives us confidence in the current struggles for national liberation, democracy and socialism and gives us hope for the ultimate goal of communism. While the world capitalist system is now afflicted by unprecedented crisis, the GPCR gives humankind the hope that socialism can be attained and developed until communism is attained. Read more
“We can say with confidence: Socialism has not failed. The counter-revolutionaries seized power from the proletariat. We just have to take the power back and we will!” So ended Prof. Pao-yu Ching’s presentation at a forum to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution in China. The celebration was held on May 29, 2016 in Amsterdam. Prof. Ching and Prof. Jose Maria Sison were the main speakers. Read more
